Sorry mate not to clued up on classics Im sure you could fit it no problem and the car would run ok, but I thought that most mods like decats would require a remap but I could be wrong

Don't do it unless you can get it through an MoT, which it won't pass without a cat.

Alternatively, keep the cat, and swap over at the right time.........

i have a fully decatted turbo back 3inch its been on for over three years. ive had the car for six months and had no problems what so ever and as far as i know it hasnt been remapped its a 97 uk turbo so would need a different ecu.i need to get it dynoed to see what power it is cos its fast. the exhaust gives a big increase in power when de catted.

Hi mate, My V4 JDM STi is running 3" fully de-catted system with only a rear silencer and its hasnt been remapped and its running spot on. So go for it mate and also it makes the boxer engine sound like it should

you might need to get a check engine light eliminator fitted in the exhaust to stop the light coming on.

I have a H&S 3 ''system with a decat downpipe, and I have never had any problems.

Obviously it will run better with a remap, but the decat will help the turbo to spool up faster, and it sounds better!

Sometimes a decat can cause boost spikes, especially if you like to use your right foot alot!

here mine. note the smaller pipe next to the main pipe. this is to stop gases hitting the plate and going back into the turbo.
