I only used Neil the once and he was spot on.....
Unfortunately, one of our MSOC guys got burned quite badly and (although both sides of the story aren't known) a lot of local folk stopped using him......
Just so you're aware....

tut tut
i realy dont think you should be on here spreading s**t like this if you dont no the whole story this is a man living you are messing with.
we or most of us on here push our cars to there limits hp wise that is and the rest drive them within a inch of there lives and when you do this thing do go wrong.Im not wrong am i.
I met neil a couple of years ago through his now closed down web site (because of thing like this)which was the best web site i found, and all not some of the members was very nice there was none of the ball s**t that you have to wade through on here and we all no what im talking about.
I have used neil many time and his work is always 100% his advise is spot on and on top of all that he will not rip you off AT ALL he will not do work if its not needed what more can you ask so i would say give slowboy a try and im sure you will alway use him his a top bloke

As above Luther999 you have no right to say anything when you don't really know the fully story. It's all he said she said! There is not a company on here that at some point someone has not said they did something wrong at some point!
I have used Slowboy for about 2 years and Neil has become more of a friend then someone that just takes all my money
My old car that he did all the work on ended up with with 412bhp and was a dream to drive, also had calls from Neil a few times after just to make sure everything was still ok and if i was happy!
proof is in the pudding......

I bought a Walbro Fuel pump off Neil and I pm'd him asking if it was normal for the pump to make a hissing sound.
He said it was very difficult to know if the sound was normal without hearing it so to be safe he would send me another one.
This he done which was over and above what I expected and he also put up with my constant pm's.
So in view of the above I would have no hesitation in recommending him.

I've recently started using him as he isn't too far from me. Neil is a top chap and has carried out some sterling work on my car. Recommended!!

Whoa....!!!! Apologies to drag this from the depths but this has just been brought to my attention. Let me clarify.... I DO NOT dislike Neil or Slowboy as a company. I am NOT sh** stirring, and I (as a customer) have ALWAYS received a top service from Neil personally.
I have had work done from Neil... and he is a top bloke all round. He came highly recommended when I first got into the Scooby scene and he went out of his way to check the car over to make sure it wasn't a death-trap. Neil carried out a service above and beyond what I expected and for that I am thankful.
Admittedly... I haven't used Neil so much recently as he is on the other side of London and it was a right pain in the @rse to get to .... also.... thanks to the great bunch of guys in the MSOC.... any servicing or low-end stuff has been done by the more car savvy guys right here on the forum.... people I now call friends.
I did not put up that first comment to scare away any potential business but at the end of the day the OP asked for an opinion which is what I gave. I do know the person who had the falling out with him and his company, and to be honest, I take his view on the whole saga with a pinch of salt.
If I upset Neil or any of his customers I apologise now but if I'm asked an opinion or for any prior knowledge then I will give it. Neil is a top bloke but, like anyone, is liable to make mistakes. I do not know the full story admittedly and for that one and only (pretty major) reason I retract any implied dissatisfaction with the service received by Slowboy as a company. I'll repeat it again.... for me as a customer, Slowboy was better than expected and gave above and beyond.
In future, I shall be more careful with more responses.... sorry y'all

Just to add my top praises for Neil at Slowboy Racing, he fitted my triple gauges and pod not to long back, and done a dam good very neat job too.
He speaks of moving soon to a bigger garage in the new year, cant wait for that.
Neil is a true "Subaru NUT", the man knows a lot, can only be a good thing
