Default FRANKENPRESSOR! The BOOST Beast!

I've had this little compressor for years (in its standard form) I've got a monster compressor in my workshop but I keep this at home and use it for the odd bit of HVLP spray painting, blowing up tyres etc..

It started to die on me while painting a bumper on sunday afternoon so I decided to upgrade it! My mate had a 400 Litre compressor with a Hydrovane 502 powered by a 2.5kw motor so I decided to fit it to the 25 litre tank as to be honest the 400 litre tank was a little bit "combersome".

This is the result:

25 litres of air @ 10 bar in a lightning fast 10 seconds!

I'm a proud farther

Crikey. Impressive, but... That adapter block holding the new beast to the reservoir. Is it welded direct to the walls of the pressure vessel or to the old compressor mount?

Its welded to the old mount, Was going to weld to the walls at the back but decided the heat will probably make it brittle and I dont really want it going KABOOM!

That was exactly my concern when I first saw it. Have you used the old handle to support the weight of the nose of the compressor - or is it all "hanging off" that single mount at the back?

Its all hanging off the single mount, but thats how it was on its original compressor to be fair Its sort of ballanced as it is.. the motor is the bulk of the weight.

I do need to redesign the handle, I simply cut it and rotated it 180 degrees but the problem is when you lift it by the handle it wants to fall on its side lol

The Hyrdovanes max out at about 10 bar regardless of volume so it could never blow the tank up

Tidied her up and repositioned the handle
