Post POWERSTEERING FLUID LEAK

Can someone please help me... i have a 93 wrs import.. i discovered i was losing power steering fluid so took it in to a specialist garage. first they said it was a pressure valve, then the seals and eventully came to the conclusion it was the power steering pump. at i high cost i had this done.. 3 days later the leaked returned with avengence... i took it apart to find a washer had not been placed correctly. so corrected this..no good. seemed to be fine but the gasket bent and the washer was pushed out due to pressure. the leak continues. what would create this.. please help someone.:c onfused:

Common fault, the early PS pump/tanks are crap.

Best off fitting the later PS assembly which aren't prone to leaking.

Have you checked both the O rings on the pump, there is one on the stem of the reservoir that goes into the pump, and another around the hole where the reservoir goes, these always perish due to the temps, I had the same on my 95wrx, and this fixed it no probs, even fixed a fellow scoobynetters power steering pump at Keele services M6 which had similar issues. Hope this helps.

ooo excellent, so would this do the trick for me?

**** Subaru Impreza Power Steering Pump EJ20 1997 **** on eBay (end time 21-Sep-09 11:41:39 BST)

Just out of interest, could overfilling cause a "leaking" effect. It was overfilled when i had a look today.
