Default clutch worn??

04 wrx
the clutch pedal is nearly at the top before it bites.Is this bad news,will i be needing a new clutch very soon? What sort of price am i looking at. ?Anybody in the gloucester area doing a deal on clutches at the moment?

rang a couple of well known subaru specialists
£500 + vat. clutch,skim and fit.
£395 + vat. clutch, fit and will check condition of flywheel.

Can anyone recommend anywhere .Tried to ring Powerstation for a quote keep getting bloody answer machines.

yeah i got quotes of 500+ for a exedy in a classic with a skim.

My 02 wrx clutch has been like that for ages, and has never give me a problem apart from it judders sometimes.

Do you get any problems with it. Slipping etc

no slipping no judders just right at the top before it bites.

You just need it adjusting. The judder is probably because it's not got enough pressure to bite properly because of the setting position. If you put your foot down in fifth and the revs rise but the speed doesn't, then it's knackered.

the clutch cant be adjusted, they are self adjusting, the pedal can be adjusted up or down but this does not effect the bite point.

I have rang quite a few API seems the best deal.I was quoted £700 by one outfit. !
