Default Lightweight Alloys

Apart from OZ, who makes lightweight alloys?

Looking for 18" rims hopefully weighing less than 9kg each.

Cheers

I think those Rotas have seen better days! Something serious must have happened to do that.

I have been looking at the selection of Inovit rims, the site had a few weights listed but not many. I always had it in my head that Inovits were crap and heavy, am I wrong?

6 kg is pretty light, what size rim was that, 16 or 17?

Been looking at Rota wheels but there's not really a style I like. I would love a set of the OZ Ultraleggeras but the price is a bit off-putting. They're a bit dear for me. I'm looking to spend about £150 per rim.

I've got Ultraleggera's too - great wheels!

Team Dynamics do quite a light wheel - similar to the OZ's but cheaper too.

17" superleggeras are 4.9 kg !

dunx

P.S. A picture of a broken wheel means nothing if you have no idea of the punishment. I saw a "ROTA" hold up rather well in a 90 mph slide into kerb incident recently.... NOT mine I hasten to add !

Agree totally. I've got two sets of Rota wheels (both 17s) that have taken some serious abuse on the road over past 3 years and they've been absolutely fine. They're light (around 6kg per rim) and have good calliper clearence. Best bit, they only cost me around £100 per corner from Rare Rims

On the flip side I've also seen two sets of alloys fail after powder coating done locally....

Not done by LSN coatings in Castleford by the way.

The wheels were on it when i brought it for £2500
so i brought the wheels and got the car free in theroyIf fact they are about£2500 including shipping and tax but then you have to buy the rubber as well so they are more like just under3k with tyres
still spent 5.5k on it though!!!

I got new rims eventually and went for Ultralite G-Grids, I put a thread in the members gallery. https://www.scoobynet.com/members-ga...heels-car.html

Before I got them I found out a few weights of other wheels I was interested in, so may as well post them. Its not hugely accurate due to different offsets of the rim. It says mine are 8.5kg and are actually 8.7kg.

Rota GRA 7.5x18 8.6kg
Rota GTR 8x18 8.8kg
Kei Fin 7 7.5x18 9.2kg
Kei RSS 7.5x18 11kg
Kei Force 10 7.5x18 10kg
Inovit ST6 7.5X18 9.6kg
Inovit Tarmac 7.5x18 9.8kg
Ultralite A-Tec 7.5x18 8kg
Ultralite G-Grid 8x18 8.5kg

I went for Avon tyres and again were very slightly heavier. It at least gives an idea.

Toyo T1R 225/40 18 92Y 10.65kg
Avon ZZ3 225/40 18 92Y 10.5kg
Pirelli P Zero Rosso 225/40 18 92Y 10.1kg
Pirelli P Zero Nero 225/40 18 92Y 9.3kg
Goodyear Eagle F1 Assymetric 225/40 18 92Y 10.7kg

I weighed my 18" Rota GRAs with Toyo T1-Rs to be 19kgs. The 18" PFF7 Replicas with Toyo T1-Rs were 21kgs.
