Best use 10-60 Millers for a refill I think though it is probably on 10-40 to top up.

If youve just bought it Id make a point of changing oil and filter anyhow

Shell helix 10w40 semi synthetic, if you go fully synthetic then go for something in the w40 or w50 range, w60 is too heavy for these cars

Wouldnt use magnatec in a scooby, take it back and swap for something more suitable.

5w30 isnt recommened for classic scoobs (any 30 rated isnt as its too thin for classics).
Stick between 40 and a 50 rated oil and you wont go far wrong

why would going for a fully synth recomend going for a thicker oil ?

w40 is still gonna be w40 if it was fully synthetic or vegtable oil

0w40 fully synthetic if you rag the car alot and it gets reasonably hot otherwise general road use semi synthetic is more than enough these days

w60 is way to thick for general use,, oil pressure will "look" better but in reality it aint actually doing anything better

IF how ever you do alot of track days and seem to burn oil then a thicker oil is a idea,,,, mobile 1 motorsport then if not look at castrol if still using oil

people belive that fully synthetic oils are thinner than normal oil when its the same grade,,,, its far from true and usually some salemens ploy for explaining why turbo cars seem to burn off oil,, easier to lie to people than explain

I wouldnt use a 0 rated anything oil in a scoob its startup protection isnt good (cold rating is too thin) so a 5 (as mobil made a 5w40 especially for scoobs ) 10 or 15 rated oil (5w40/10w40 or a 15w50) as these are in the specified range of oils recommended by subaru

ive currently got valvoline 0w40 in my scooby,,,, been in there a few months now and its been fine, not had low oil pressure on start up at all either,,,, though i also dont get fake high oil presure that castrol RS gives either

when i do a track day i use mobile one motorsport as the 0w40 tends to burn off at the ring or on track

well I wouldnt run a 20w oil in winter thats for sure
Remember that the first number is the cold rating, so 0 warming up the quickest most use a 10, so 20 will take an age to warm up, so no not really a good one tbh.
