what mods can you do engine wise before a remap is needed i.e. downpipe, fuel pump, turbo, etc?

Generally mate, you would put on a panel filter then go for a full decat exhaust system, once this is dont you need remp asap to allow engine t run right or it will overfuel and other stuff that other people on here can explain better than i can.

as far as im aware you need a remap after anything you do to change the engine, most do everything before the remap because if you have a remap then add some more bits you will need another

yes to all off the above

and depending what year car your running maybe injectors as well

bit of a strange question from someone who has been a member since 06 and nearly 600 posts ...lol

Just a cat back exaust and panel filter, any more and you'd be looking at getting it mapped

I ran a decat up-pipe, Prodrive sports cat and decat centre for about 4 months before remapping, got a couple of CEL's (cat below efficiency) but the car spooled up a lot faster and seemed much quicker.

as siad already mate ,
but get all of sorted before mapping otherwise will cost you more for more tweeks

decat
filter
vf34 or 35
fuel pump
3 port (if you can doesnt already have one?)
and as long as you have 440 injectors or better should see you over 300bhp
and then a remap

Or a cheaper option for a fun 270bhp (which I can assure you feels a significant improvement over the std bug wrx):

Sports cat down pipe, decat mid section to dispose of 2nd cat - you'll still pass mots. Green airfilter (£50), walbro fuel pump (£75) and Ecutek remap (c£550).

Worked for me!

You'll probably need another g'box at some point then.

Maybe get an STi and mod that?
