No but if your going to look check its front arches for alignment. There can't be too many mica blue 2 doors and one I looked at up north (you can guess where), its drivers front wing stuck out a few mm to the door.

heres the model code off the vin plate - GC8G2FD
Which equals = G : (99/09-`00/08) WRX type R STi Version VI / INT
Paint code is 95H which for deep mica blue which is a version 6(Year 2000) colour.....dark mica blue code is 52D and that was the code for my old car which was a 1999 turbo 2000
seems to be one of the 1999 V6 type R's going by the engine and paint codes

right ok ive been doing some reading and according to the "haynes" subaru impreza turbo book on page 59 it tells you all about chassis numbers ,burt your chassis is gc8g2fd its either a wrx type-r sti version VI or a wrx type-r sti VI v-limited . the dd as tony stated is only for RA cars unless is a 1999 car when they are DD for the wrx sti V .
the "G" after the gc8 in your chassis means it production year was from the
6th of september 1999,i cant find anything on what else tony has said regurding the roof vent and different colour seats.tony sorry if this sounds like im scrutinizing everything your saying cos im/were hardly in a position todo so when all your doing is to help out.can you confirm that all version VI type-r's were ment to have a roof vent and different coloured interior?
thank you again

Hassle to the previous owner normally means its cost them a fortune, hence get it inspected
When I bought my type R she wasn't perfect, but I did go see her before I bought her and now she is getting there, but the service cost me 600 quid for everything, and I replaced the manifold and up pipe at the same time....

got the car home last night and im well pleased the cars 100% original as described by the ownwe who is a gentleman i might add, the cars totally standard and in exellent condition, i absolutly love it completely different car to my turbo 2000 and alot faster even though the uk car had the VF35 conversion and AFP map
Type R's are sharp even as standard :-)

Ok the FD on the chassis threw most of us but go get it inspected and fully serviced, and have around about 1k to hand, they will find issues with the car, its 9-10 years old, it won't be perfect (I always budget for the usual wear and tear items, plus a full/major service when buying a second hand car )
Also go have a look in the group buy area, KS3's at just over 200 quid will be a very good investment, and the brake group buy may also tempt you
Good luck with your new car
