MY97 VER3 IMPREZA WRX STI - POSSIBLY FOR SALE....?
Good evening all,
The time has come where I am debating whether to move on and sell my STI.
I just wanted to see if there would be any interest in my car before I decide if it is a good idea to sell now.
First of all, the reason for potentially selling:
Basically for me at the moment I would like to be able to pay off my debts and save some money to eventually be able to move house.
The car:
Make/Model: Subaru Impreza WRX STI JDM
Year/Registration: 1997 P-reg
Type: Saloon 4-door
Colour: Mica black
Mileage: 115,000km
Imported: November 2007 (I purchased the car December 2007)
MOT: November 2009
Tax: 31st August 2009
It's a standard JDM car with the exception of an 'A' pillar boost gauge.
Regularly serviced.
Run on V-Power.
All receipts kept since purchase.
I've had the car for around 1.5 years and done under 20,000km - it's been used primarily as a commute car on a daily 30-mile round trip, majority of them dual carriageway. Other then that it is rarely used over weekends.
It is in very good condition inside and out, and underneath. It also drives really well.
Bodywork:
The paint is all original and is in good condition with the usual minor blemishes you would find for a 12 year old car.
Rear bumper however has paint chipping on both corners and two scratches (chipping can be seen in the rear photo).
The car is great to drive and never fails to put a smile on your face.
If I decide to sell I want £4395 for the car ovno.
Car is based in Colchester, Essex. Please PM me for any more details.
Thanks for looking.

Absolutely no chance of selling for that money I'm afraid - knock £1500 - £2K off the price and you're probably closer to the mark for what it will actually sell for ( as opposed to what people are asking and not selling for ! )
Imprezas just arent selling at the moment unless they are very cheap - people are getting shot as they cant afford to run / insure them anymore, and there dont seem to be many new buyers who want to take on an expensive to run car in the current climate.
Looking around at whats for sale, most of the cars that are priced at what they would have sold for in a flash 12 - 18 months ago are sitting there for months. Give it another 18 months and I think prices will recover a bit, but unless you are desperate to sell you may be better keeping hold of it.

My MY00 Type RA WRC Ltd isn't moving at £4800.
At £2k yours will probably go quickly. 3K it might go but will take a while.
Not a good time to sell and I suspect things will never change with these cars.

was going to say mt V4 Type R is only up for £4800 and hasnt shifted so as the others have said for a 97 model you will have to knock quite a bit off it,especially as it has the early dash etc

it depends on the person thogh IMO and the car, ive been wanting to work out what my V3 STI is worth but didnt think i could post it,, im never gonna sell mine though tbh as i love driving it just like to see a rough price
mine is a v3 STI in white with a type RA roof vent, HKS coilovers, whiteline rollbars F&R, fully powerflex polly bushed, antilift kit, 4 pot scooby brakes with mintex 1166's and also non road legal track only pads by mintex, 6 sets of 17ins alloys, bosch 044 pump and fuel rail mod, carbon bonnet, full facelift including bumpers and its got 82k miles on it
its about to have either a ppg gear kit fitted or a 6 speed with DCCD and plated front diff too
id like to think its worth more than 3k even if its just for insurance tbh as ive got it valued at 5k
its gonna soon have a GT30, 3ins custom exhaust, tubular manifold or perhaps a IHI twin scroll turbo and a few other engine mods to match
as said im never gonna sell it so PLEASE dont PM me but id also like a rough valuation before and after the mods what it could be worth
sorry to hijack post btw
