Mine used to do this as well on my classic, i was advised at the time to give it a hard launch to clean up the clutch face. Did it and it helped for a while but the prob came back. Untill 3rd went bang in the gaerbox and when replacing the box i got an exedy thrown in and never had the problem again, that was almost 2 years ago. But as already said apparently a common problem.

Craig.

to be honest there are either high spots on the clutch plate, pressure plate or the flywheel,or there is a small crankshaft/gearbox oil seal leak and its soaked into the clutch plate,i had this on my evo,at the worst point i could'nt select first or reverse, unless i selected 5th then slowly drag the gearstick out from 5th to 1st or reverse.a real pain,i did slip the clutch on a hard launch and it did get better for a short while, anyway after the box was out there was a small oil leak from the crankshaft oil seal.
