gauge engine bay wire
i need some wire togo from my oil temp and pressure senders to go into the car to the gauges as none came with.
just wondering how you guys protect it from heat/melting
can you just wrap it all in insulation tape ?

I used normal electrical cable the type you get from maplins etc. Wont need protectin imo just keep it neat and out the way with other cables. I posted it through the hole near the downpipe and all is well for me.
Most decent electrical cable can take temps higher than you get under bonnet tbh.

Most car off the shelf goes to 105 (ISO:9722 Class B). If you get worried about it, GXL or SXL cable goes to 125 no problem but as above, if you run it around the engine bay neatly and away from hot parts, you will be fine

Anything should be fine, the original wires on my GReddy ones are pretty thin, and haven't had any problems with melting - the oil temp wire comes from the sender in the sump plug, and up the side of the engine, so probably gets pretty warm, but hasnt ever caused a problem.
A good tip might be to buy some in strange colours - that way you can identify them easily as not being part of the original wiring if you are working in the engine bay.
