Default why is my car so hot?!

Does anyone know why it gets so hot in the cabin, duno if its just me, but in my old bugeye and now hawkeye if i dont switch on the AC it can get very very stuffy even with windows all the way down. Granted that this is partly down
to the weather but when I drive my runabout Nissan in the same weather condition it doesnt get nearly as hot in the cabin.

Even in the evening and its breezy outside the vents seem to blow Warm air even though setting is on coldest.

Anyone else relate to me?
I also find that if the engine is idle you can feel hot air around the front wheel and sideskirt area??!

SunnySide: Thing is I prefer to drive with windows down so I can listen to the burble soundtrack
Also heard that AC uses more petrol, dont know how much of that's a myth?!

TopFuel: Yep I also experience the same issue that you've mentioned

I dont get it cos alot of the times it may be cool outside yet gets so stuffy in the cabin
Maybe I'm wearing too many layers, I'll drive topless next time

The hot air is from the exhaust heating the surroundings
