Default As its my duty.... British Grand Prix ROLL CALL!

I've resisted so far as I tend to get rather excitable at the thought of the Silverstone trip. We're off on Wednesday morning ('til Monday afternoon!)

SO, who's going, what days, where you watching and where are you camping / staying etc.

We decided not to do it this year which is a shame really, could be a good one!

Not for me I am afraid. Silverstone will never get another bean out of me after the mess they made of it when they ran it April that year. I am still waiting for a refund after being turned back at the gate on qualifying day having set off at 3am to make it there early.

Anyway I went to the season opener this year, now that is how to run a GP.

On the Friday it rained heavily and despite the forecasts syaing it was due to be a very wet weekend for at elast two weeks beforehand Silverstone chose not to use any fence matting on their car parks. by the end of Friday hundres of vehicles were trapped in the mud and it was basically chaos in part because of the weather, bit alos because of very poor organisation.

Luckily I wasn't there on the Friday but travelled down for the Saturday very early tickets in hand only to find they had decided to close the entire circuit to all but corporate visitors to try and reorgnaise the car parks for race day on Sunday.

Sadly on race day the car park marshalling was woeful and again many got stuck because of the poor organisation and it took me 3 hours just to exit the car park due to badly parked vehicles let alone the circuit.

Despite writing several letters and being verbally promised a refund for Saturday I never got one and that is why I will never give them so much as a bean ever again.

We were there that year- in a tent. The weather was horrendous, and Silverstone just weren't prepared. We were in hospitality all three days and trekked from the tent to the hospitality toilets, changed, and stashed muudy clothes and boots under the sinks.

The carparks looked a nightmare. However, I don't think I've ever laughed so much as I did that weekend.

Me and the g/f will be there can't wait, lol. We getting there on the Friday morning and leaving on the monday.

Got tickets in Luffield A for Sunday, the ticket also includes roving seats for the Fri/Sat so can sit anywhere.

We are camping at Hamilton Fields Camp site.

Last time I went was with my bro & Dad and this was on the dreaded weekend, we ended up walking 8 miles to the circuit as the roads were grid locked on the Sunday (we only went for the Sunday). Left the old man in the car at around 9:30am as he suggested better start walking to get there on time, we sat down (thankfully had seats) as the F1 cars came round on the parade lap!! :eek Dad got in about half way through the race.

Hopefully the weather will be better this year!!.......... (as I look out the window now to see it p1ssing down, thundering & lightning ).

Should be a good weekend though
