ADVICE ON A SCOOBY
#1
I have brought a MY99 Impreza Turbo. It has Prodrive Performance, Driving and Exterior packs. Going to collect the car in about 2 weeks. Prior to the Scooby I had a R5 Turbo, which as pretty quick. What advice can u experienced Scooby drivers give to me, and any DO's and DONT's.
Cheers.

when you get it home:-
DON'T - turn it off immediately...... let the turbo cool down (you'll probably have 'given it some' onthe way home!!!)
DO - expect the rain to pour into the boot!!!!!
ENJOY!!!

Chuckster:-
What do u mean not to lift off on mid corner?
ScoobyDoo555:-
How many minutes should I let the turbo cool down, on my R5 I gave it about three minutes (Clifford Turbo Timer). Should this be the same for the Scooby?
The rain pouring through the boot, is it a common problem? Is there any fix?
Jolly Green:-
I had a constant grin when we went out for a test drive. The car sounds so much different to the old R5 and the Scooby feels solid.

The rain problem is, as Microsoft would allegedly say "a feature of the car, not a fault".
I learnt to live with it - don't know if anybody's sorted it... usuually too busy prizing the grin of their chops!!
Turbo-wise, as a rule of thumb, I always let the fan kick in, wait until the fan switches off, then turn off.....
don't know what anybody else does though..... might be too long, but I've still got the original turbo @ 82,000 miles........ (touch wood!!! )
hope this helps.

Forgot about the boot leak!
I just removed the rubber gromit from in the middle of the spare wheel well... (only accessable from underneath)...
I no longer find the spare wheel well with two inches of water in it... I think it is the rear lights that it leaks past... I have never got around to fixing it...
Well I normal wait for Fan to kick in and then wait for it to go off then switch off if I have been on a long trip or on boost lots.. otherwise as long as it takes to take stereo front off and shut windows etc.. about 60seconds...

Vinesh,
Have a look at http://www.drivingtechniques.co.uk under the Techniques->AWD->Wet Roundabout. It goes on about left foot braking, but if you read through it, it explains power distribution and engine braking in a 4WD scenarion, and explains why lifting off the power mid corner can be very nasty for the health of your new car
All I would say is treat the car with respect, learn it slowly and take care
