Fastest WRX in the World Video for Download
#1
I've got some footage from the recent Australia 4, 6 & Rotary Nationals of the quickest WRX in Oz at the moment, but unfortunately haven't got anywhere that I can upload it to that could sustain all of you guys downloading it. If anyone can email me the details of somewhere that I can host the file (39MB) I'd really appreciate it.
Also, you can check out pictures of the event @ http://photos.smktech.com.au:58885/ and then click on "20020217 - 4, 6 and Rotary Nationals" ...
Regards,
Gerrod

You could register a website on somewhere like angelfire (free). Set up a small site with the file on there and link your site to an .html page on Angelfilre (so they get their small advertisement)

Here's the link to the video, in which you can hear the commentator talk about the numerous 10.02 passes that the car has done.

Oh, and if anyone could download the file and then put it up somewhere else (I think it's a little slow) I'd greatly appreciate it...

As far as I know.. only one of them was red lighted.. that's really weird that people are having trouble with the sound as I know 5 people that have downloaded it that havent had any trouble at all with the sound.. possible re-install of the codec needed? also.. its possible that the video is divx 3.11 whilst the audio is 4.12.. so you'll have to have both versions installed.. which works fine..

I also got no sound when i played it on the DiVX player and WMP. However if you load it into windows movie maker that comes with XP you will get the sound. Also unselect the option to chop the avi into small clips.
PS. Installed DiVX 3.11alpha on XP and now plays sound on any player.

Richie1,
True.. true.. but you've gotta remember what classes they're in. It's good to see that it's only a matter of time before a WRX in Oz goes under 10s for the quarter. Apparently there's a WRX in Adelaide with 720 odd HP which keeps shearing driveshafts into pieces. This car would surely be set to run deep into the 9s once this issue is sorted out.

Oh aye fatcatz I know that. Wasn't really slagging off the scoob as I know it will be fast.
Just amazed at the launches those 2 RWD cars got with full on wheelies..... Obviously someone who has done a lot of 1/4 miles or knows the car VERY well.
4WD is definitely NO advantage against them

Not really, but still, he has done pretty damned well to get the car going that fast. Apparently theres a number of 800+hp wrx's getting around, (one is on the cover of fast fours magazine this month) in Australia which are yet to run quarter mile times, which would make things extremely interesting....

Funnily enough, I managed to stumble across a video of such a WRX just after I made the post above.. you can grab it from here:

It'll be very interesting to see how quick it is once it starts running some times.
