Litchfield cars have mostly been built from JDM spec cars, meaning they originally had 2.0 litre engines. Type 20 performance mods include a Miltek exhaust and Powerstation remap, usually resulting in 320-330bhp and 340 torque. They are also fitted with the AST Sportline 1 coilovers (height and 12 position damp adjustable) and the full Whiteline chassis pack (ARB's, links and ALK). The T25 cars had bored engines up to 2.5 litre giving 380+bhp. Later (Hawkeye onwards IIRC) they got a full Cosworth built bottom end taking them over 400bhp, and were also fitted with the AST 3-way adjustable (bump, rebound + damp (+height)) race coilovers.

Not quite 100% accurate.

MKI Type25 was not a bored engine up to 2.5ltr it was a 2.5ltr bottom end that had forged internals. It was circa 350bhp as a base BHP figure.

MKII Type25 has a complete Cosworth Blue Printed Tall Engine (again 2.5ltr) and was still fitted with the AST Sportline coilovers.

Anything over what has been mentioned was optional (like the £3k AST 3-Way competition suspension).

My mate paid less for a T20 than he would for a UK car (iro £5-600), especially if the UK car was classed as modified. Speak to A-Plan and Keith Michaels for good quotes.

IIRC the Type 20 did not neccesarily have the engine tweeked, but was more to do with the suspension & brakes.

His was an 03 JDM STi T20, at a guess £24k at purchase. Recently sold and then sold on again for around £11k I believe.

I can confirm that insurance on my 04 type-25 is about 10% less than my 10 year old MY99 (modded slightly). Was around 11k, but 60k on clock.

The AST adjustable suspension was standard (12 or 14 way ?), I believe, but not had the chance yet to have a proper look underneath.

Default Type 20 info

Just paid £470 renewal on my 05 Type 20 .... Gary Moulson is your friend !!

An 05 Type 20 is essentially a std 2 ltr twin scroll 05 JDM STi remapped, with turbo back Miltek exhaust, Type 25 suspension (ASTs, ALK, uprated ARBs etc) with Powerstation alignment, K&N panel filter, braided brake lines, front lip spoiler, Type 20 logo's floor mats, Type 20 stickers to side and on boot.

And very nice too !!
