Default new guy buying advice

hey there, looking to get my first subaru and am very tempted by this one here:

2002 SUBARU IMPREZA WRX TURBO ESTATE WAGON BLACK on eBay, also, Subaru, Cars, Cars, Parts Vehicles (end time 01-May-09 19:35:22 BST)

now baring in mind that i'm a complete newbie can anyone offer me any advice on this? its from awesomeimports in bristol and they seem to have a pretty bad reputation on the board - thing is i'll be pxing my old motor so am not able to go shopping around with a nice wad of cash in my pocket..

any advice would be most welcome.

cheers,
marco

I am too far north to know anything about this dealer, however the car itself looks very standard and straightforward, standard wheels and exhaust not "de tangoed" Milage is probably about rirght for its age, wihout hearing it run......... difficult to call it, at the current price its deffo worth a punt in my opinion....... for what its worth

Looks nice - it's done a few miles, but with good service history should be OK. What's your maximum bid?

Make sure to do the usual second hand car checks, HPI, drive it from cold, check state of tyres and brakes etc.

I don't know anything about the dealer though, and if there have been negative reports be extra careful...

Just moved to Newquay from Bristol and lived there most my life. I know a couple of people that have bought cars from there and have sung their praises. Doesn't mean they won't sell you a bad one mind.

Do all the usual checks and don't buy with your heart.
