Probably best to take the ticket and cough up

However The UK speedtrap guide does off free legal advice on speeding matters.

Cool

If you were in such agony were you then in a fit state to be in control of a vehicle?
Probably not worth bringing it up frankly.

Stuart, I had a Nip in the post today but I would like your oppinion on the circumstances.

The offence occured at 11.20 am I was on my way to the Dentist for my 11.15 emergency appointment to replace a temporary cap that had come off leaving exposed nerves. Needless to say I was in agony and I probably can get a letter from my dentist to confirm this.

The question is will this help me in any way?
or should I just roll over and take the penalties?

Many Thanks
Sam

You can only lose more if you bring attention to this.

Take the fine - it is the safer option.

I thought your appointment at the dentist was at 2:30!

'tooth hurty' get it!

No, I suppose that doesn't help much or is very funny.

I'll get my coat.

May I remind you about the Alex Fergerson dodgy stomach incident, that seemed to work for him!

Being manager of Manchester United didn't hurt either!

Wouldn't mention the tooth, they may charge you with something else.

Tricky one this.....the best thing I can suggest is you contact the free legal team Steve has set up on his website (see Neils post above)

Sorry I can't be of more help on this one.

Cheers

Question

Sam,

if you do try to use your tooth-ache as "mitigating circumstances", you may be asked the question why you set off late (at LEAST five minutes late) for your appointment in the first place!

I presume that this was a GATSO - one would hope that a pull by Police Officer would have had a little more sympathy - still, thats progress

I was late due to the unusually heavy traffic returning from Cardiff because of Wales v England match and I have been caught on one of those video speed cameras carefully positioned in a blue unmarked Peugeot van.

Stuart thanks for the reply i'll be going with the truth - hopefully i'll get away with it because I am quite proud of my record of no points for 7 years (miracle)
