Question Might spend some money on the Scoob this summer............

...............but on what?

it's already on WRX 17" wheels over4 Brembos all round. Shall I go for some OZ 18's and Toyo R888's?

It's already running 300-320bhp via a full decat and a LINK ecu remapped by Bob Rawle. Should I get a bigger turbo, new injectors, new fuel pump and another remap?

Come on folks, help me to decide.

Oh and what sort of prices would I be looking at for the turbo/remap bit?

No there's a recession !

18" R888's are very expensive, I'd go for a 2nd set of 17"'s if I had to choose. Unless you are FAR TOO rich, and want a bit of "show car" bling....

To get to say 370-380 bhp would cost a fair wodge of cash, but do you really need it ? I spent loads going from 340 to around 400 bhp, and while it is astonishing, how much of the time can you spend at warp factor nine ?

Sorry no help really !

I've just spent around £4k (proabably more actually) on parts etc to get mine from 340-350ish to around the 420 mark when it all on.........

Just hope it's worth it! This include turbo, header, injectors, FMIC, AVCR, Remap. Plus maybe more as I've got new pads and discs etc.

So for me, I'd say get a turbo etc dude....thats the route I've gone.

Don'f forget Jeff, the standard Uk internals will struggle with extra power on top of what you have now, so budget for a rebuild/stronger engine.

And you gearbox too, thats something I have the experience of

I wouldn't go to 18s. I think they are too big for a classic for the best feel of the car.

Suspension?
Shocks & springs
Whiteline handling mods

Engine?
FMIC - I think these are a good idea even at 320 odd just safer IMO
Bigger turbo for sure

Interior?
Posh wheering steel?
Some random shiny trinkets.

My shopping list:-
FMIC
Simtek - no more MAF worries and anti lag - although is your link MAF less.
17s
Whiteline mods
Blue RA seats professionly cleaned
A bloody good rummage underneath to make sure shes going to stay with me for the long haul.

My car is only about 320 and I'm quite happy with its performance. My old UK turbo didn't really do that thing to your stomach that a quick car really should do. My RA does that to me at least so that'll do me.

suspension would get my vote, along with a whiteline rear ant roll bar, rear alloy drop lins, and anti lift kit, i had that fitted along with a set of kyb agx adjustables think all in was £1100 inc vat and fitting mind you i reused my p1 springs which you will need some springs this made a massive difference feel and grip. then something like 550's, hybrid fmic, and a vf35/34 or maybe an 18g along with a small fee for the map to be adjusted then away you go. with some clever buyin gon those parts used then fitted say antoehr £1-1.5k so all in you will end up with a very nice package, ha or scrap the engine work and go full hoh if you have the budget and get the whiteline gear fitted with a set of litchfields ast's of similar which would be even better. and £300 on driver training course to get them most out of the car

best of luck on what ever you do

I really should have listed what I've already done:

Brakes: Brembos front and rear, fronts from Godspeed, 335mm discs, rears from a version 8 Sti.

Suspension: Whiteline rear arb, solid droplinks and alk, full geometry setup.

Interior: WR1 steering wheel, Defi boost, oil pressure and oil temperature gauges, Knock Link and AFR Link. Seats in black/red from a V6 Sti.

Engine: Full decat using TSL's group N rally kit, 3-port boost solenoid, Intake kit, slightly hotter plugs, STi7 intercooler, LINK ecu mapped by Bob Rawle and not using the maf.

I just wondered about a bigger turbo, and a better fuel pump and what that might do for me? Plus bigger injectors?

It might make you pay for a re-built engine.... LOL !

dunx

P.S. You need to try a car with your bhp target and see if you like it, I took Martin (Megaman), out and he's now trying to get "her indoors" to let him chase 400 bhp !
