Onboard - Prodrive WRC - Terry Kaby - Round 1
Sorry for the double post, but I notice most people are posting about scoobysprint in here, rather than in the Scooby Sprint forum)
A very quick, rough cut of Terry attacking the Monte Carlo course at Scooby Sprint Round 1 last weekend at Elvington for those who couldn't make it.
MUCH more footage from the day to come as soon as possible.

(or go to our youtube channel : YouTube - ScoobySprint's Channel )
Enjoy!

That was our very own Diesel from scoobynet of Welcome Page Video Production
He also edited the footage. He's what we call in the trade "fairly handy"! LOL

Yeah, Andy was very close, and was only in a modified car. There was one point when AFP had done one run more than Prodrive where Andy was 1/2 a second faster!
I was in the Prodrive service area at the time, and the faces turned a bit more serious when that time came in!
I think the quote was "hmmm.. we better wind it up a notch then boys!"
I maybe shouldn't say this, but I think they were on setting 2 of 5, so there a lot more still to come from them.
In fact, on their first practice lap, they went a second faster than any of the fast laps, on half throttle, no launch control and no anti-lag. So its a fairly rapid bit of kit.
But ultimately its hampered by the 34mm restrictor, so no matter what you do, there's only so much power you can get out of it.
Will be interesting to see the competition when everyone gets their serious machinery up and running for round 2 / 3.

All said and done though, it was basically a bloody brilliant fun day, and was just great having the Prodrive boys there lined up to our other valiant Constructor teams Tracktive, AFP and ScoobyClinic (the only constructors who have taken up the challenge against Prodrive so far! as others have run for the hills!!!!! ;D).

It's really difficult to know which way it will go.
In prodrive's favour, they have some of the best engineering in the world, a top class professional driver, and a half million pound car.
Against them, they have minimum weight restrictions - including the cage which is a lot of high up weight, and the turbo restrictor.
In theory, a fully stripped out Type RA, with 450 + BHP, decent suspension, a top class driver and similar tyres, ought to be able to give them a run for their money.
And if you look at the results, it got pretty close at times. Certainly enough to make it interesting.
But if they walk it, I guess whoever comes second is going to be fairly happy to come second to the WRC car! And if they don't we'll have to try to convince them to come back next year without the restrictor!!

Just like my trip to Sainsbury's
Right up to the last bit when you spot a free space in the next section, lock the breaks and drive the wrong way up a one way lane...
Nice bit of driving
