Nur Spec-r is a catback system (backbox and centre section). It's 3" straight through and tapers down to 2.5" near the downpipe connection.

Nur Spec-s is the backbox only. The pipe work is still 3" but tapers down to 2.5" where the backbox meets the center section.

NurSpec R does come with a bung and rocks a db of 96db bunged and 105db open.

Do you mean centre silenced pipe or the short cat pipe ?

Nurspec R couples to OEM Short cat pipe, NurSpec S is a Back Box and therefore fits to the OEM centre pipe (long resonated/silenced section).

No, it won't. The pipework off a Nur Spec-r backbox doesn't taper to 2.5", it's 3" true. All Impreza standard systems for your age were 2.5", so unless the standard centre section was modified to fit 3", you're buggered. Unless ofcourse you bought the Nur Spec-s, which is a straight fit.

The above is a Nur Spec-s backbox. See where it tapers to 2.5" where the gasket fits?

The above is a Nur Spec-r catback system. See that the backbox doesn't taper to 2.5" and remains 3" all the way through. the 2.5" taper is where the centre section would meet the downpipe.

Can't really make it any simpler than that fella, sorry.

You knows more than me in respect to the box you bought. If its an S (classic fitment) it will, if its an R it won't.

Glad your sorted fella. But really you did make it more complicated then you needed too

Putting a picture up of the backbox you have would have certainly helped.
