Default very confussed....

my97 T2000 on way home from my mates last night decided at the traffic lights to drop revs below normal tick over, 4 - 500 rpm. it did not stall just seemed very weird. car still ran and sounded normal. been driving it for most of the day 2day doing here and there completly forgot about the rev thing and got on with it.

but, whist reversing today i noticed it shat a dirty great blue smoke cloud out its @rse. once again, runs, sounds normal, and hasent done it again since.

im confussed.... any 1 got any ideas?

Possibly a dodgy sensor: lambda or maf. Keep the car off boost and get it to a specialist to check. 5 min job.

lambda sensor is a possibility, i have had that out a couple of days ago to loosen bolts for exhaust on back of turbo.

are they expensive to replace?

MAF failure on my P1 did similar - pretty sure the garage didn't dry crank it when they did the work as it went pop 200 miles later on high revs. good luck!

would not get a cheap eBay one mate to save yourself fifty quid at the cost of any bigger engine damage I would rather spend the 180 bucks if it were me
