At the least, springs and ARB's (+ droplinks), but preferably some decent adjustable coilovers (AST or Apex BC maybe). Throw on some lightweight alloys with sticky rubber (RE070, A048 or R888 for summer, use the OE alloys in winter with Uniroyal Rainsport 2). Uprate the pads with Performance Friction, Pagid, Mintex or Ferodo, along with DOT5.1 fluid and braided lines. All these combined with good driving (seek out professional tuition on both track, and Roadcraft on the road) will make it an awesome machine, and difficult for most cars to get near.

Alternatively, do what everyone else does and increase the power making the car more difficult to drive anywhere near its restricted limits for the standard chassis components by fitting a decat up and down (or 100 cell sports cat) pipe and remap to suit. Maybe throw in an STi (or similar) TMIC.

As Dave says, upgrade at least the brakes first then suspension before increasing the power. Decent discs and pads with braided hoses (£600) Uprated bushes and ARBs (£450) then think about upping the power. Bob

I bought same 3 years ago, first upgrade was at powerstation, VF34 turbo, miltek 3" exhaust system, pipercross airfilter, and Ecutek map, got me up to around 295bhp. Injectors are not an issue at that point nor is the intercooler.
I fitted an uprated rear roll-bar and rear strutbrace along with front strut-brace which eliminated the the body roll, which it did have.
I'm up to 350bhp now but in all the upgrades I've had it's always been 10-15bhp lower than expectation. I've got it there in the end but it's just taken that bit longer than would an STI.
good luck
Trevor
