Default hks panel filter

are hks panel filters any good , im looking at getting one for my classic wrx, are they lifetime filters or throw away every service

Three layer foam. They are easy to clean. Have just them in a couple of Scoobs

Apparantly the hks doesnt flow very well, asked this very question to bob before mapping, needless to say there is a k&n panel in mine now

Heard they couldn't filter a brick either, K&N for me as well

would i get any more power from an induction kit or is'nt there a lot in it !

The standard air box with a panel filter is the best option up to 350bhp, an induction kit below this will probably cost you power, although they do sound nice

I do not believe that HKS flow worst than the K&N unless someone can actually prove it..

Ive not tested it, nor will i, just passing on a bit of info i received from a highly respected mapper

Interesting, good find! The op was on about a panel filter, i assume these use the same foam as the induction kit?

Why not be different and fit a Cosworth filter. Fitted one to my old man's wrx and it appears just as good as the K&N I had fitted in mine.
They are available from Zen.

I think there was a test done somewhere between all the panel filters and genuine STI came out top a think, but there was not much in it and was a bit more expensive.

Put a K&N on mine and can't fault it.
