Do you sometimes forget....
Why you keep messing around with your car ?
On 22B some lucky bugger was showing pics of his latest (tuned) Porsche GT3, and yes I would love to be able to afford one.
Quote,
These numbers are significant advances over a standard Mk1 GT3 (360hp / 273ft/lbs).
So as one of quite a few on here with a "quick" car, have you actually forgotten just HOW quick the damn things are ?
Mine made 390 bhp / 360 ft.lbs.
Sometimes you need to step away from the keyboard and drive the thing....

How right you are dunx, I'm looking for a version 9 sti atm and have looked at the TSL 350 conversion 350hp/350LbFt.
Compare that to a Ferrari 360 (395hp/275LbFt) £10-12k vs. £70-80k

Your right, Sometimes you forget for everything but the price tag you are driving a supercar.
I would love a top porsche or a zonda, but until that happens I cant see a better use of my money than a scoob. Power, performance and IMO fairly good looks.

tell me about it, I would love a 911 turbo or similar but I can't afford the price tag let alone the servicing etc but for the moment my p1 is the best pound for pound performance I think that is out there. So I think the 2.5ltr conversion will keep me happy for a while so roll on the conversion

I've been saying this about many Scooby owners for years. When they're not on here, they're in the garage (either bending their own spanners or paying others to do so for them), and the cars hardly ever get driven. The quest for power seems more to brag about than enjoy, and in truth, too much power ruins the cars anyway. In 3 years I covered 60k miles when I had mine, mostly for pleasure. Almost all the mods were secondhand, and nearly all fitted DIY with the car never off the road for more than an afternoon. It wasn't an engineering project, a fantasy race-car, an ornament or a ***** extension. It was a car, my car, and I drove the bloody wheels off it

I love driving mine, i,ve been very fortunate to have some nice powered cars (never a porker i might add) but Evos etc and my V3 i have now running 350/350 is an absolute hoot of a car, ok it dies once you reach 120/130mph, BUT it,s sure fun getting there and does it quite quickly too i might add.....

If on the other hand your implying that I would be anoyed if a Corsa could keep pace with my impreza I see your point but my point is the people normally seemed annoyed if they but their foot down and can't pull way from a cheap, old car. Any corsa etc. capable of hanging on to my car and indeed most scoobs, evo's etc would have cost at least the same as my impreza cost me and a lot more in most cases.
No shame in spending the same amount of money as someone and having the same power no matter what the car.
