Welcome
What year car are you after? ie the classic shape upto and including 2000 or the newage shape from 2001, also JDM or UK STI's?
But for a quick reference, Newage UK STI's have a 10k/1year service interval, ALL JDM STI's have a 6 month/7.5k service interval (all relate to whichever is reached first, time or mileage).

Spec C's are great but you need to want one for what the car is, not because its fast.
Its a little more hard core than any other subaru out there to date, lacks any sound proofing (the sound of stones bouncing off the bottom of the car can be off putting to some ), thinner glass (windscreens are 6-800 quid each) but they are fun (but the lack alot of features of the normal STI's).
They are also more expensive than any other STI of their year, but it may not be a car that you want if you like your comforts.
Your other option is a JDM STI, an MY05 onwards would be a very good choice, twin scroll turbo and still 2ltr, if you get one that has been imported before april 2006 then your laughing as you will be paying 190 quid a year road tax to the 400 quid of a UK car
