Default Trackers

hi was just wondering if having a tracker does improve insurance quotes as luckily im 24 years young, but doesnt help insurance, so still having to bend over a little for insurance.

Its an interesting point that I have taken up with many companies in the past. On the surface in the area I live it doesnt make a blind bit of difference.
Do a confused.com with and without a tracker, you should see if will effect you.

Some insurers insist a tracker is fitted for theft! it rarely brings your premium down as a younger driver unfortunatly.

Im with Diamond and they lowered my premium due to having a tracker fitted.

I know Diamond only deal with women but its well worth shopping around as other companys may consider it.

Im 23 and insurance can be ridiculous so every little helps...

Several of the companies i contacted wouldn't touch the car without a tracker. I'm 31 with 12ync!
I won't have any worries in the future.

Not sure whether it lowers the premium or not but I know Direct Line insisted on one. Now with Keith Michaels and cant remember whether they did or not just told them it was on. I would have it more for peace of mind than anything else. Dont think its ever brought the premium down though

a few years ago my work decided to trial Tracking systems on sum of the fleet. well they were pulling boys in the office asking them ridiculas questions about how they got from A-B (over a hundred mile) in so many minuts and why were they speeding, bearing in mind the vans were ldv pilots loaded with kit and not able to go over 50mph They were absolutly cr@p.

Now not learning anything buy there mistakes they have fitted them to every vehicle and the Tracker companys service guy is seen on a regular basis trying to sort them out.

Think it depends which company you are with Im with Tracker Direct not RAC and they have their own units in police cars up and down the Uk. Ive had no problems.

Also Tracker will not give you the details where your car is or isnt, they will only give the police that information.

They notify me if the car is moved without the keys and I say yay or nay to whether it has gone or not

Makes a difference with some companies, and some will only quote you if you have one! Whether it makes a difference enough to justify the £130 yearly subscription is debatable though

In general it is either required (as with all new-age STIs) or makes no difference. If it's not a requirement to get insurance at all, then it makes no difference with most companies.
