What to expect from a WRX with bottom end gone
After a long time (3 weeks after purchase) the bottom end has gone.
I found some replacement engines and costed everything up, which im more than prepared to pay for, but my question is,
what would i expect to make if i sold it as it is.
1995 WRX
Full facelift front end
Sports cat
racebox exhaust
tinted windows.
Not much else done to it.
Just a rough figure would be appreciated. I know reatail on these cars is not much anwway, but not sure how much i will loose if i sold it as spares or repairs

3 weeks, bummer
I can't help but think that, even if you do put a new engine in a '95 WRX, you'll end up with a car that's still worth less than the cost of a new engine. You'd be better off breaking the car for spares, then adding whatever you'd have spent on the new engine and spending it on a new complete car.
As to what your car is worth with a knocking engine, I guess it depends very much on condition. Maybe around £1500 complete, more if you have the hassle of breaking it yourself.

with the current market being like it is most people wouldnt give you more than a grand plus if they put a rep or recon motor in going to be around another grand unless they change the turbo as well or use it for spares if the car has no other problems and is in good nick put another engine in no point in selling and buying another just to have it happen again.

Bad luck mate.. I've been in the same boat. My bottom end let go and I got a recon from SMR at well under a grand (this was around 15k miles ago). If it were me, I'd fix it and enjoy having your car back...
If you decide to break, I'd be interested in the sports cat.. ;-)

Sorry who are SMR ?
well i had an engine lined up ready but due to work commitments, i couldnt make it to collect.
I would love to keep the car as i think it looks awesome and i have so many plans for it.

yes rebuild is the way to go then at least you know whats been done some of smr engines have meant to have gone through checks but some have just been painted and sent of to find the head gasket has gone after a few miles its the chance you take but good luck with your car hope its back on the road soon cause if your anything like me you sell them cause its doing your head in but after a few days you miss them.

Sorry to say it fella, but you'd be very lucky to see £1500 for a car thats probably worth no more than £2500 fully working/eninge intact etc.
I'd hazard it's probably closer to £1000 with a fubared engine though.
If you have the space, I would break it for spares personally, unless you have a decent wad to put a respectable engine in it.

if the rest of the car is in good condition scrapping is an option but i would personally keep it if its a rust bucket i wouldnt hesitate in taking it to bits and getting as much for it in spares the choice they say is yours.

i personally would rebuild or get a new engine if i were you. If you sell as is you would not get anymore than £1000 unless verry lucky. I have a buggerd engine im mine and if the cranks gone i might be tempted by one of these smr engine places
