Think about what you will do with it in the future.
Do you intend to sell it when you part with the vehicle or
do you intend to keep it and transfer it to another vehicle?
If the later then your initials would be best.

I agree with the others - intials unless it is something really good. I saw a car in South London with a reg: "S 12 1NCH"

Get WRC ;-) lol
I personally don't get personal plates unless they are in someway related to the car.
I.e. for a P1 get P1 XXX
for an nsx get XX NSX
for civic type R get XX CTR
if you know what I mean.....

I got mine with a BMW i borght about 10 years ago (B13BAT), it suited the car (original reg D***UNT) so even more reason to leave it on) Had it valued after the BM had gone @ c. £1000, was going to sell but then when i decided on a Scoob it felt kinda right to put it on It means nothing but everyone in town knows the 'BAT' (inc plod) and tend to leave me alone
I would go for your initials!

I have a plate on retention at the moment, just need to transfere it over.
It been on a few cars and it's the other halfs nickname..... that way at least people know what we are driving at the mo.
Personally I would get your initials.

Why not go for something like this:
Private Number Plates, Car Registrations, Number Plates - 50% OFF!
Bargain at £245 from DVLA inc. transfer, and looks smart imo

IMHO initials are better unless the other option is completely obvious. SRT (or SWRT as it should be) is not as obvious as say WRC but would be easier and cheaper to source.
Also depends if you want other people to understand or not either!!
