Default 08 STi PPP

Latest STi fitted with the PPP seems to be getting some good reviews. Two mags, 1 being Japanese Performance, prefered it over the Evo X 360.
Just thought id post something positive about the STi for a change instead of the usual.

Hear hear... I had someone come up to me the other day asking if it was the new Impreza... I replied yep..expecting the scoobynet responce of "it's not as nice as a DORF".. but no... he said he rather liked it and it was the 1st he'd seen and he never liked the older models.... I nearly fainted... someone else with taste too... lol..

ps I'm still saving for any kind of re-map... doing my head in.... 300's just not "enough" lmao...

Love the look of the RS, Martin, as i do with the EVO X. But i would still buy the STi. Absolutely love it, and i did look at others. To be honest it gets more looks than any of the other Subarus ive owned. Positive looks before you say it!. Gets most of the negative comments on here i think As ive always said each to thier own.

Got PPP on mine now and really pleased. 339HP & 379Lbsft on the rolling road. Only other mod is a K & N panel filter.

Power delivery with the PPP is smooth and strong. There is a definite kick now when spooling up and the car is transformed.

My best Scoob by a long way.

I'm guessing that is with a remap as there is no way that you will get 379 lbf·ft from PPP with a filter that is over 30 lbf·ft over the quoted PPP/330s.

Mind you I have heard that the MY08 maps well, similar to the MY07, you should see about 380bhp and similar torque.

I see you've had it done then. Nice figures with the same spec as mine, hope I'm looking at the same. It does pull well and the mpg is better, if you can hold off the loud pedal.

Paul.

All sounds very good but what do you actually get with the PPP on an 08? I heard that it's just a new ECU and the backbox, which I find hard to believe and stomach for £1600.

There is also a centre section pipe + you get to keep your warranty!

PPP has always tuned more for torque the outright BHP. For every day driving torque is much more usable!

Its not cheap, but the quality of the product is excellent! Worth every penny IMHO!

Makes a little more sense. I assume the cat on the stock STI is pretty damn good out the box then.
