Default Rear W/B change newage

hey subeyman i see if i can help.sorry dont have any pic's though you should be OK
You will need acces to a Hyd press if you dont have this get someone else to do the job,
1st search for pdf of rear W/b set up available on scooby net sorry can't remember where its in someones mood tag..
ok so after removing wheel,
remove the hub nut 32 mm socket.
remove brake caliper,
remove the park brake adjusting "rubber blank" on the rear of the backing plate just below the area of where the brake calliper was.

back off the adjuster all the way.

you will need 2 m8 bolts to help remove the disk put a small amount of tension on the bolts and tap hub part of disk with plastic shott hammer repeat until disk is free be carefull not to hit the studs!.
remove all park brake components ensuring you know where they are all situated make a drawing if unsure
remove abs sensor and park brake cable.
then remove all suspension bolts firstly please use some release fluid wd40 or similar on all suspension bolts leave it for 5 mins make a cup of tea.
remove the 2 bolts attaching the hub unit to the shock absorber last. remove hub assy from car.
be very carefull as you need to remove the abs ring attached to the rear of the drive flange this is secured by allen bolts ensure you mark the orientation of this before removal.

now you will have to remove the drive flange do this by using the hyd press.
this will enable the removal of the backing plate.
when this is done remove the wheel bearing locking clip"ring".
using the press remove the wheel bearing from hub.
you now need to examine 2 parts for wear,
1 , the drive flange hub that you removed will have a bearing inner race still located, this needs to be removed,
when removed check the drive flange for wear if it is even slightly worn replace it or you will face doing the whole job again.
2 , inspect the hub assy where you have remomved the w/b case from again if this item is worn even a very small amount replace it!.

both of the above are very comon parts to replace.

assembly is exact reverse of removal.

Hpe this helps I completed 2 last week takes 1.5 - 2 hrs per side.

Just to add to be careful to support the inner race when pushing the hub shaft in or you will run the risk of seperating the bearing.

Have a look here https://www.scoobynet.com/technical-...w-updated.html for the manual for your car, for the torque loadings. Courtesy Slipstream_UK

Otherwise a good write up
