iv got a full 3" magnex exhaust system on my sti that set me back over a grand but im thinkin of changing it, any ideas??? im lookin 4 top performance.

I thought full turbo back systems by Magnex were around £550 max.

Difficult to say best performance as everyone will claim their system is best whilst only having experience of one or two.

I've owned a Blitz Nur Spec R on my old Subaru. The quality and finish was outstanding but as for performance - good, but many better out there. for a true 3" Blitz you will also need the 2.5" end replaced.

No idea the make of the system on my Type R, but planning to replace with the RCM 3" open neck downpipe and Revolution 3" system. From my discussions with a few tuners (whom I trust), this seems to be best combination for performance and not having anything stupidly loud.

is wat gets me is these exhaust are 3inch but the up pipe is tiny as standard anyone now wat sort of perfomance increase u get from an upgraded up pipe. regards tony

Full straight through Afterburner Vortex or Blitz system for both performance and sound!!

uno wot it wasnt even a grand it was over!!! yeh i think i got hurt on that 1, got it done at silver stone, from wrc, a guy calld chris, full system 3" from the dwn pipe, nt sure the name, i will find out.

Where in the country are you?
Most of us here in Central Scotland swear by Meercat Custom Exhausts as they get good results every time and with you not paying for a name it is a fait bit cheeper coming in around £600 for a full custom made turbo back system.
The fact that Colin and Alister McRae have has exhausts made there speaks for itself

Custom exhaust are quite good if you want to choose your own tailpipe and how loud/quite you want it, also you can decide if you want a 2.5" system or a 3" system, most exhausts Ive seen on the market seem to be 2.5" systems, Even the Blitz nur spec goes from a 2.5" and tapers out to a 3".


My brother has a this system on his STi and it sounds the nuts(also comes with a bung to make it quiter), it also looks nice and the welds on it are perfect!!!

I would think a 3" system is good for over 400 bhp, so a 3.5" APS would manage 600 bhp-ish !

He makes them to order on the car, you do occasionaly see them up for sale in the Scottish section of SIDC but not very often though.
There a great piece of kit and the downpipe is very similar to an early WRC downpipe
Just find an excuse to come up for a holiday or something and leave the car with Wully for 8 or 9 hrs

It might be worth giving him a phone you never know he might be able to do something for you Meercat Custom Exhausts and Performance Centre

That would be WRC-Tech or as they are now called Race Solutions, now based at Wellingborough.APS, Milltek, RCM or TSL pulse extraction exhausts are quality exhausts and will set you back alot of cash.
