I got a Snooper S1 on the way back from Oulton last weekend £100. It picked up the roadwork cameras on the M6 Southbound and a Police T5 on a brige on the M40.. with a fair bit of notice aswell.... it gives a few false alarms in town but as I dont drive like a tw@t in built up areas I dont really need it there.... I presume the 300 quid one is *better*, you get waht you pay for etc
Doesn't mean I drive round relying on it though, can't beat 101% observation

I've got a Whistler 945 (£50 in Tenerife - you can't go wrong) - it's my second one the first being confiscated by the French police along with a £500 on the spot fine.
They are quite good for motorway gantry cameras and coppers by the side of the road but fairly hopeless against GATSOs (there's very little back scatter off a gatso). It's also good against supermarket doors and traffic lights (the one upside of this is that it warns of roadwork traffic lights ages before you can see them).
Frankly for the sort of money you're talking about I'd spend a bit more a get one of those Morpheous Geodesy units (GPS camera locator) for £380. I think that'll be my next gadget....

I also have the snooper S1, I wasn't too sure if it worked or not but a trip to dublin showed it did it picked up every Gatso with enough time to slow enough, I wasn't driving too fast so didn't need to brake like a loon. At £100 (as opposed to £300-400)is suits me fine. It does give loads of false alarms though.
