Default Hi im new to this site, and subarus!!!!

Hi ya'll my mates say i have moved over to the dark side lol as i am a cosworth nut, on the process of part exing my escort cosworth for a V4 type r, as i belive it will be a better car to drive and enjoy, i do love my escort but i darent use it!!! its always in the garage.

The car i am buying has apparently just had roger clark oil pump, shells etc.
I am hoping to get it up to about 350 bhp without ripping the engine to bits.

Hope i dont regret the swap to jap!!!

How is everyone

My Cossie was in the garage constantly when it was new!! No such probs with any of my 3 Imprezas. As with the Cossie, avoid anything thrashed / crashed.

Welcome.

It won't need 34psi, a standard Type R will be very quick due to the low gearing. My last car was 4x4 cossie powered running about 330bhp and at 290 bhp my Type R was quicker, now at over 360bhp it's great fun. Oh yes, they can be a t**t to work on, but hey ho!

My red 4x4 cossie was running 2 bar boost and was mental. But as you get older you slow down and buy a Subaru!

No internal mods at 360, some people run them around 400 (or more) on standard internals. I do have a 6 speed box though.

Did realise the standard lump was so good, i always thought they were very weak as standard

Sti engines are quite strong so shouldn't have 'issues'. I've no idea what boost pressure I'm running - no boost gauge fitted. Although for that power it depends on what turbo you're running too, mines a 321H from Latteral Performance.

Check my scooby to see what mods I've fitted.

The car cost me £14k 5 years ago as it was low milage 'mint' condition etc etc. Then I've spent circa:- £600 brakes, £400 wheels, £2500 6 speed gearbox, £3000 for Apexi, mapping, turbo, injectors, Sti8 intercooler etc etc.

Lots of money 'invested' and now worth £8k(?), so I'll be holding onto it.

Ive always invested like that in my cosworths, but i usually removed the expensive parts and refitted standard, at some point in the future i will be looking into a gt3071 conversion once i have front mount etc.

That must of been like new at that price, what injectors are you running and who remapped it for you?

You still have a top mount i see, i take it there ok up to your power level then
