Default Had a nightmare

Hi all, im having nothing but bad luck at the mo. An Evo kicked a stone up whilst following it down a motorway near me. I was only doing 50-60 mph but it has left a large chip in my windscreen with cracks around it. My Insurance dont cover it and, although it has been repaired to prevent further cracking, it is still highly visible and im gutted. Does anyone know what my options are. The people who fixed it hace said it is too damaged to be corrected. If its a new screen I need, where can I get one or does anyone have one for sale? Thanks in advance, Chris.

It'll cost a fortune for a new one, used would be better. I'd probably just change my insurance company to one that has windscreen protection.

Directline is about £50 for new windscreen!
I have never had insurance without windscreen cover!

******* put bricks through 8 cars on our street once.....(was a clio at the time)...and I had a new screen the next day.

Change your insurance....it will be covered even though repaired.....just put another stone through it yourself!?

I dunno if this will help mate as i don't know where you are in the country, but Essex Glass & Windscreens Ltd based in Sth Woodham Ferrers, Essex quoted me £125 + VAT. As i said above, not sure if any good for you as you maybe miles away but it gives you a rough idea on price.

I was fully comp on a scoob at 24 with a wack against my name for around £600 with admiral.

Use moneysupermarket.com and directline.com and try the insurance section of the forum as lots of people seem to get the best deal from a few who advertise in there.

Go through the yellow pages and ring several companies. You'll get loads of different prices and the cheapest will probably be around £100 less than the dearest.
