You will probably have to stop for fuel on the way but its about 220 miles to manchester from london, so nearly a tank full of fuel (i did slough to north of manchester on 3/4 of a tank of v power at 60mph though i was taking it easy and my new car is running a little rich) but 70mph is good enough and it should take you about 3.5hrs in decent traffic

Check and correct all ya fluid levels and ya tyre pressures before ya go, take it nice and easy (not to say you cant have a little play) and you should be fine. Took mine down to London for NYE (160 miles) and was pleasantly surprised with mpg and the 'ride'. Not the parking tho £160 for 4 days

LOL! Depends where you are staying in manchester....I don't like taking mine there and I live 30mins away! LOL! I go in the Golf!
Trains are a rippoff and buses are ****...so, if all you have is a scooby...then it will be the best option. Just bring a steering lock etc....
If you keep in 5th at 70/80 you should be ok for mpg but I would say atleast £80

Baseball bat is not a bad idea!LOL!
Immobilisers are good but don't always put the little ******* off!
However....getting around an immobiliser after 10minutes cutting through a steering lock....that just pisses them off!
My clio....(when I lived in Chorlton).....I used to take a few wires off the engine but I wouldn't recommend that with your pride and joy !LOL!
