Question

get a potential scooby checked out ? before I spend my hard erned dosh, any input would be appreciated.

I'm considering buying a scoob from a small outlet near Brighton. It's a 95 model turbo wagon with 51,000 and no mods, it looks tidy but I'm keen to get it looked over by a 'expert'. Can anyone recommend a local garage in the Brighton & Eastbourne area that could give it the once over and possibly service it ??

Any pointers on what to look for with this model ??

Cheers

RoZZa

"Where can I"

...use a meaningful title to my topic so that people don't waste their time reading stuff that they are not interested in

PLEASE have a little consideration for other members, especially as you are (supposedly) a new recruit!

Red face

I'm new to BBS so I'm not familiar with the protocol so thanks for that sound advice Boomer. Nice to see you're so welcoming to a newbie.

But seriously, i presume that you have been lurking on the board for a while (before making your post) so you will be aware that the Moderators are closing lots of inappropriate threads. Helpful titles (and sensible content) will facilitate a good response!

RoZZa,

Unfortunately mate I don't live in your general area so can't help you out with the name of a local garage to do an inspection for you. What I promise not to do though is have a go at you because you are a 'Newbie' and didn't post in the 'correct manner' ????

Apparenly this must be a disease that can only be treated with extremely helpful advice and a show of friendship, of course you might be forgiven for thinking otherwise after reading boomer / mb's comments !!!

Now to address that ....

Dearest Boomer / mb,

I think 'ScoobyDoo555' got it exactly right. "Lighten Up".

As I am sure you are aware (and have proven ...), it is very easy to be critical but apparently helpful isn't that high on your list of priorities .....

Myself, well i'm a 'Newbie' here too and incase you might have over looked it, this isn't the only thread that hasn't shown - how did you put it .... "consideration for other members" !!

I also happened to notice you didn't post the same 'helpful' comments in those threads with such "meaningful titles" as ....

'Little Swines'
'Cleaning'
'Why is it'
'Ouch'

Just to name a few and by the way - they weren't 'Newbies' mate !!

Didn't your mother ever tell you "if you can't say anything nice then don't say anything at all ???"

Sorry for being critical mate, but you needed a reality check !!!

Oops!

sorry if i have offended anyone - i should have checked the "newbieness" before replying. Look like i have frightened off RoZZa though - please come back!

Mortoyz,

i do try to stick to reality (except when drinking beer ), but there have been an awful lot of newbies asking dumb questions recently (RoZZa did have a sensible question, albeit with a naff title). Having an almost blank Profile doesn't exactly instill confidence in the integrity of the poster (if you know what i mean!).

Lets all lighten up - even ScoobyDoo555 posted a !!!!

Sorry again.

Cool

great my first 'dumb'post may have irritated the odd person but it made me smile. I shall try to make future posts less criptic.

So thanks to all.

Anyway I've decided to go to a main dealer for now and see if I can source a scooby friendly site later on.

Boomer - you assume too much, I was told of the site and posted ASAP without much looking around, but it takes more than a red face to put me off and I'm back. As ScoobyDoo555 say's 'we were all newbies once'.

Cheers

RoZZa - a soon to be scooby owner
