its a wrx ive got the same code.

 

we need gc8 for this, I can say I think that code is used accross a few models (i think).

 

its either a wrx or wrx V-limited

C8 = saloon
F8 = wagon

After GC8 or GF8 the folllowing letter is the Model year code

GC8A = Impreza saloon SEPT 1993- AUG 1994
GC8B = Impreza saloon SEPT 1994- AUG 1995
GC8C = Impreza saloon SEPT 1995- AUG 1996

Next number is how many doors

GC8C4 = Impreza saloon SEPT 1995- AUG 1996 4door

Next letter or mumber = model type
8= WRX E= STi D= STi R 7= STi RA (not certain of All these codes)
GC8C48 = Impreza saloon SEPT 1995- AUG 1996 4door WRX

Next letter or mumber = gearbox D=5 speed P=Auto
GC8C48D = Impreza saloon SEPT 1995- AUG 1996 4door WRX 5speed manual

Almost, but not quite. The A-Series cars were produced from the end of 1992 for the 1993 model year. The B-Series cars were built from Autumn 1993 for the 1994 model year. The C-Series cars were built for two production years, from the Autumn of 1994 through Autumn 1995; and were replaced by the 1997 model year D-Series facelifted cars in Autumn 1996.

A car with a 'C' year identifier in the applied model number can be either a MY95 or a MY96. It certainly will not be an STI though. In 1995 the only STI available was the altered production WRX STI Type-RA, which has a standard Type-RA AMN along with a roof vent and DCCD. The 1996 C2-Series STI models were series production and have an AMN ending 4ED.
