Scam? Contact only via hotmail account - no phone number and very few details. Rings alarm bells for me.

Can't read much into a hotmail / gmail account these days, as people in the know also use them to collect email from whichever ISP is cheapest, so they can swap about easily without having to change their email address..

100% SCAM!!!!! I emailed and got the following reply:

hi,
i would like you to know that the car is in excellent condition - inside and outside, mechanical and electrical. i will be shortly, as I have many inquiries: UK specs, UK plates, UK supplied, no liens and condition like new! there is no catch here, the price is real, the only reason why we are selling the car is that we have moved house in Madrid, Spain and we would like to buy a new left hand drive van. i would rather sell the car than put in storage (which is still a valid option). The car is stored in a warehouse in London and it will be shipped from there. The full price is 5,000 pounds with shipping costs included. The transaction will be done through eBay for our own protection. Your funds will be 100% insured by eBay and I will be sure that I will receive the payment, this way both of us will start the deal with good faith so we can take it to a smooth end. After the payment is cleared and confirmed by eBay i will ship you the car in no time. You will have 10 days from the time you receive the car to inspect it and decide if you want to keep the car or not. Once the car arrives if you find it different then i describe it you will be refunded by eBay and you wont lose nothing. If you are interested in buying it please provide me your full name and shipping address so I can initiate the deal through eBay.
Looking forward to hearing from you.
kind regards,
Clive Buckberry

If any one falls for this one now then IMO they deserve it. You have to be thick as s**t to pay for a car you have never seen and to someone you don't know and pay via a service like paypal or western union.

If you do then your asking for it lol

I saw this on ebay lastweek. There was a warning at the bottom of the listing saying, Do not bid on the car its not for sale and that someone had hacked his account.

I've just reported it through my Ebay account.

Typical Eastern European scam language written all over it.
