The link below is to a thread on Drivetrain about a letter in the "Honest John" motoring column in the Daily Telegraph (from last week) about Optimax fuel and Bhp gains. I've mailed HJ and had a reply this afternoon which I've posted at:

Question

Could any of you car boffins answer these questions (related to the above) please?

Does the standard Japanese WRX (260bhp) run with a totally different ECU or is same ECU with a different map/chipset?

Does the standard Japanese WRX run uprated internals at all? (if the answer to that is no, can I just shove one in my UK turbo? thought not )
