I had a look at these ( online ).
One is a W reg with 12019 miles.
The other is a Y reg with 13466 miles.
I reckon they will be lucky to make 20 grand at auction !!!
I'll try and find out.

The 'W' reg went for £21,400 - too rich for my pocket.
The 'Y' reg was right at the end of the auction, and I couldn't be bothered to wait for it, as I thought it very unlikely that it would go for less than the 'W' reg.
Interestingly, there were several other Scoobs which seemed to go for over-the-odds prices (or what seemed to me to be over-the-odds for an auction), e.g. 'V' reg saloon with 43,000 miles went for £12,500; 'V' reg "estate" :P with 18,000 miles went for £13,100; then a 'V' reg saloon with 34,000 miles went for £13,900 .
Looks like the bottom hasn't fallen out of the second-hand scoob market just yet!

I only stayed for the first P1 aswell, was almost amazed at the price of the others, no wonder dealers advertise them for so much.
Perhaps we really should stop de-valuing are own cars on here.
BTW, there was some amazing cars at the auction, even a Holden HSV does anyone know what that went for?? or the elise?? or the 911.........
Phil.

The dealers are the P1 bashers!
Mine's a X plate, with 18" OZ wheels, Prodrive brakes, prodrive exhaust - FSSH.
Have been offered between 15 & 18k by dealers. Dick Turpin springs to mind.
I was amazed that the W plate motor fetched 21k at the Auction!.
Regards
Kurt

4 months ago I was in the market for a clean WRX. Every dealer I approached within a 50 mile radius told me he was selling all he could lay his hands on and was taking deposits on cars that had been unseen by the prospective purchaser, such was the demand. I had my name down with one dealer in Mansfield never phoned me but I saw a car on his forecourt that took my eye, I phoned him on the Friday night to complain. Went Saterday morning to be told that he sold it after I phoned!.Another dealer in Lincoln had two for sale, went over to have a look and I`m sure no one on this net would have touched them 40 / 50k 3 years old, scratched to hell inside yes inside and out, stonechipped, and generally tatty, one not even valeted. 16.1/2K he wanted with no part exchange. It was then I decided to go on the import route (arrives next month.
If a dealer offers a poor trade in value tell them to get stuffed in no uncertain terms!. Stop giving your motors away, you are only bringing the resale value down. Sell it privatly to another enthuiast at a reasonable price and arsole to the dealers.

Clarey,
Dunno what the HSV went for - looked pretty smart, didn't it?
Couldn't believe the Elise. With, quote, "about 2 grands worth of frontal accident damage" (didn't see much myself, but there you go), it went for £11,800 !!!

Why do people think they can buy a P1 for £15k at auction.
If you wanna buy a P1 today, privately, then expect to pay over £22k for an older high miler - a good one with th right mods (brakes, 18" rims and decent exhaust and ICE) will set you back £25k.
Stop talking down the prices of your cars!!!
