Default A sad day - My Scoob on its way to Poland!!

Yes on Thursday night I had to say goodbye to my precious Type-R, a 7ft Polish guy came over, landed in London on Wednesday, went to look at a Type-RA in Wales (was that yours??) then came up to Sheffield on the train on Thursday to have a look around mine. 2 hours later the deal was done, hands were shook, tears were shed (on the inside lol) and the fastest and most enjoyable car I've ever owned drove off down the M1 headed for Dover and then on to Poland.
He is a real enthusiast so I'm glad its gone to someone like that and not to some ****** who's gonna wrap it around the first tree. Plans for it are some track action I think. He says he will send me links to their "scoobynet" and some future vids and pics of the car, will post on here when he does. Sniff.

Hi mate, scoobs are becoming more & more popular over there, there is a big jap car following in warsaw & they have a legal street drag racing event on a puplic road every month, this is organised by the police and is proven to be popular & safe, so maybe thats where your pride & joy is going, i know that a lot of polish are coming over to by scoobs cos they can get them cheaper here. Im off over there next year in scoob to check it out.

You must have been a bit wary selling to someone from Poland. When you put a car in AutoTrader you get nothing but offers from the eastern block, all dodgy in my experience though!

Yeah when he rang I told him I wasn't interested in selling to over-seas buyers but he asked why and said he was bringing cash (sterling) so I couldn't really refuse. He is actually from Warsaw so its almost a cert that he's going to be drag racing it, with the short ratio box its the perfect scoob for it.

Still smarting from letting mine go...that was 5 years ago now. It never looked as good as when it drove off into the distance with the new owner at the wheel as the sun set. Still- I've got the Megane scenic on the way now so there's always a silver lining...not!

I'm looking to sell my MY05 STI PPP early next year; its a UK car but its now on French plates. I've owned it for nearly three years and only done around 9k in it since I bought it. I've too many cars so one has to go for now. There is a large Jap car following here in France with a number of people I know driving RHD EVO's and Skylines.

When I'm not in the scoob I want to sell it, but when I'm out in it I want to keep it. The French second hand car market is stupidly expensive and a Scooby specialist garage has showed some interest in it. It's impossible to buy a the PPP pack car with all the goodies here in France so its a rare beast (probably the only one). I could effectivley sell the car for around 20,000€ to a garage; I've seen 2004 models on the forecourts (not the 2005 model) with 40k miles on them and in sh*t condition (the French don't look after their cars) going for 26,000€.

Where did you advertise your car for this Polish guy to see it?

He saw it here on Scoobynet so get yours in the For Sale section mate!
Jase - nothing quick for now, been a slow year work wise and can't be bothered with the repair bills when they break. Don't regret buyin the type-r tho, best fun I've had in a car! Next quick car I get will either need to be rwd or have adjustable diff for the grin factor!!

Fair play to you for going ahead and selling to a Non UK resident .

I had endless emails from Poland,Sweden etc when selling my Ra but just didn't entertain them as most ( You Think ) are scams.

Just goes to show there are some genuine folk out there from other Countrys who genuinly want to by our cars and not just after our bank details..

Nice 1 mate - Lesson to us all..
