I was / am a big fan of the old T20 / T25, in fact I wanted to buy one a few years back & couldn't find one they were so scarce at the time.

This new one sounds good, just a shame that it's wrapped up in the new hatchback body! £37k too, ouch!

Same price as the Evo X FQ360 though. So priced against the Evo, it's not a bad price considering what Litchfield have done to it.

First new shape Impreza I would consider buying.

I'm interested in the "Re-valved power steering system with increased feel and weight " comment. I think I'm right that this is JDM based but I wonder if the tweak would apply to the UK/Euro steering as well, could be the best mod out there

That was the only thing that they said about it.

On the 22B/330S test they quite liked it, if it were not for the steering...................

The only thing wrong with spending £37k on an Impreza is the amount of money you're going to lose in a very short space of time.

Unless you can either afford to lose that money (You're too rich) or are going to hang onto the car for 5/6 years minimum, then I would say it's not a very sensible purchase.

Any car nowadays is worth plonk, it is a fact. Just 'cause you drive some german plonk does not mean it should hold value longer than some jap plonk or be more expensive in the first place either.

The car imo is good, so what if it costs 37K?

The list below might have help somewhat

Japanese STI quicker 13.1 Steering Rack
Revised chassis bushes and up rated anti roll bar
Increased Castor angle and wheel base
Re-valved power steering system with increased feel and weight
Litchfield front strut brace
Red Maserati style tail light option

cars are not investments

I've always budgeted my scoobs would lose x% of the Purchase price and it's never far away
1st year 25%
2nd year 35%
3rd year 50%

My new 2002STiPP &PHP was £31K and £16.5K @3yr
My new 2006 Type20 was £33K (New but I got it secondhand) and £15K @3yr on if I was lucky

so lost lost £36K in 6 years and I've enjoyed every minute of it "Priceless" just spending my hard earn't or my childrens inheritance

IMHO IIRC

Tony

I know all cars lose money. The point I was making is that the new shape Impreza is not a sales success for Subaru.
Lack of interest from enthusiasts like ourselves due to the Hatchback shape, and awfull styling are hurting sales.
What dealer wants car he'd struggle to sell on. Yes all cars are feeling the falls, but some cars are feeling it more than others. The Impreza is probably one of the hardest hit due to styling and running costs. Therefore spending £37k on an Impreza is going to lose a hell of a lot more than car priced the same, or a similar priced Impreza, say 4 years ago.

Don't get me wrong, I like the new Type 20. As I said it's the first new shaped variant that I like.

I agree, but again if you keep it more than 4 years it wont hurt as much (I guess).

stilover,
I think you have to take in to account Litchfield's target buyer. It's the enthusiast that wants the best and latest and is not concerned about depreciation. In the same breath you could congratulate Litchfield's for having the ***** and commitment, in developing such a car in the current climate. Hats off to them..... it's a great pity that IM / Prodrive never did it themselves.

Could not have said it better!

Still considering Litchfields for an upgrade, even though it is a 4000 km roundtrip!
When the time is right I guess!
