Default THATS IT GUYS AND GIRLS. (attempted break in)

Last night i went to bed at 10.15pm,i was in bed,the wife in the bath and my 2yr old in bed..next thing 10.25pm BANG BANG BANG 3 men were kicking my front door in and yelling for the car keys. i jumped up looked out of the window and saw 2 at my door and a 3rd trying the doors on my car, and luckely my brother (who lives next door) must have scared them off,coz they jumped into a car and sped off.

I ran down stairs to find my door wide open smashed to bits..and my brother said he saw everything. he was still up sat in his front room when a car pulled up outside his, 3 guys/lads got out,put up there hoods and came onto my drive and started kicking my door, He (my brother) was at his window at this time then he ran to come outside and thats when they scarpered.

I HAVE NEVER BEEN SO SCARED IN MY LIFE..as it was happening i was fearing the worst,my family are my priority so i have to put them first, I don't want to get hurt over a car and by no means would I want any of my family in danger over a car

therefore i think its time to sell up,and im totally GUTTED

Get a stronger door too !!!

CCTV
Warning Signs
1000Watt Flood lighting
Driveway barrier
Etc...

Take some time to chill out without the car around and seek security advice.

So you think that they were just after the keys to your car? - dont blame you for wanting to get rid of the car if this is what we are having to put up with now.

thats scary that they are doing it so bold and quite early in the evening not when most of us would be asleep around 12/1am!!!

That sounds awful mate.

Guess its fortunate your bro was about to scare them off. Think its probably best to hang the car keys by the front door with a sign above saying "Take the car"

Least you don't have to confront them then. As much as I love cars they are not worth the risk. Your never going to win half awake against three lads full of adrenelin (sp).

That's not good but I'm surprised they attempted that so early in the evening.

The Escort is just a 1.8 so not the real deal, not what you would use for a getaway car They sound like amateurs

Best of luck getting your house sorted and I hope they don't come back, this is something all car enthusiasts dread

That's what I was thinking... stole the Cossie..realised it was dog slow and crused for a quick replacement... hopefully a one off and just "wrong place wrong time"

Not good for the nerves though... time to take a baseball bat to bed with you... they'd not get up the stairs that's for sure..

I am getting a house at sometime next year and I have already decided no matter where it is, if i don't have a garage ( Being a first house might be unlikely ) I am going to get something like this

Security Posts from Parking Facilities

Chatted to a friend of mine in the local traffic cops and he had nothing but praise for this sort thing as a deterrent.

But having people try and kick in a front door is one scary thing!

A reinforced frame with a dead bolt might be on my list too

F*cking Thieving *****!

Sorry to hear it mate.

I would move/sell the car asap.

It can be very traumatic and cars are just not worth it.

Firstly, sorry to hear about this experience, it must still make you feel depressed and i respect your decision to put yours and the family's lives first.

but there are a few things worth considering:-

how far away from your place was the other stolen car taken from?
is your house on a main drag or is it in a close or residential part of the area?

the chances of the same group of lads comming anywhere near your house in future is pretty slim, if thay have been scared away.

might be worth investing in a family pet of some sort, preferably big with sharp pointy teeth !!!

hope you find a solution

I am sorry to hear about this. It's really scary and unbelievable what some scumbags are prepared to do to steal a car. What can they do with it in the end of the day apart from breaking it for parts. Most cars have a tracker nowadays. They watch too many movies and think they can get away with it easily. F¤%/ing b@$tards!

Bad news mate but whatever you have somebody will try taking it.
I would seriously beef up the security in the house, get a serious door and invest in a dog ours is that scared of any noise etc she goes mad barking but the sound would be enough to scare people off.
