Default Weight saving-how heavy standard?

Hi, im putting my RA on a diet, and wondered if anyone could tell me the weight of a few parts?

1 Stainless gt spec headers and up pipe
2 Standard 95 front seats
3 Standard battery

I have the headers fitted, so can't weigh them. Im looking at fitting a light weight battery. Also, i have a pair of corbeau forza seats in the post.
Im thinking i can save a good 50kg with this lot.

Thanks,Mit

Standard Battery 32.5lbs.
My new Braille Lightweight battery 11.5lbs

Thats a Stone and a half off your left wheel !!!

Spare Wheel and associated tools
Rear Carpet
Rear Seats/belts/speakers
Few other 'bits'

Saved me about 50kg's

I think seats are +20kgs ea. and Buddy Club ones I had my eye on were 5kgs ea.

You would be surprised how many heavy bits get binned/chopped off when fitting a FMIC too !

Lose the I/C spray, waste of time at that size, we measured it and it reduced my temps by 1 degree ! Since fitting the FMIC I removed it in favour of a larger Induction cone

1 litre of water = 1kg so thats another saving over your right wheel !

The forzas are bottom mount, so looking at fitting the standard rails with the use of brackets or something. I have access to ally and stainless from work.
Are the prodrive ones side mount? Could you make some L shape brackets to convert them to bottom mount, then use the standard rails?
The other plus to using the standard rails is i can retain the standard seat belts too, harnesses seem like too much agro!

I fitted a fmic to my last scoob, it's quite a lump. Wouldn't the weight of the larger core+pipes/hoses work out the same as the standard kit?

The prodrive ones come with an L shape bracket attached but they are a good bit narrower than the originals, i might get an old set of mounts and make something up but i am trying to get a proper sparco mount for them.

That would be best. The only reason im not fitting proper courbeau sub frames is cost, more than i paid for the seats!

Just an update:
I have fitted the corbeau seats, saving 20kg
The stainless headers are 6.5kg less than standard
The de-cat is 10kg less, yes 10kg!!
So thats a total of 36.5kg without stripping anything, and not done the battery yet!

That's a nice saving you have made! I eventually butchered an old set of seat rails and used some flat bar to mount my seats.

I had a look at your spec on your profile, do you know what power your car is making with the mods you have?

This is how i went about fitting the seats:https://www.scoobynet.com/members-ga...ats-today.html

As for power, i've not had a power run as yet, but i'd like to think 320bhp ish?
I know it's enough to cause my clutch to slip badly in 4th and 5th, getting a lightweight flywheel and AP clutch in january.

I put my RA on a major diet:

Removed:
Aircon
Spare wheel
All trim inc door card and headlining rear seats, carpet etc.
Stereo and speakers
Fitted alloy brake calipers
No rear spoiler
New cobra lightweight seats with home made alloy mounts to replace my old Magnum's.
Varley racing battery.

I then went and spoilt it all by fitting a rollcage and 20 extra metres of CDS.

It was down to 1160kg with all the trim still in and no cage, not sure what it weighs now with all trim removed and the cage added.

Id remove the window regulators and fit polycarbonate windows. They have to be thermo-formed for an Impreza, because the doors are frameless, so you cant make your own: youll save a good deal of weight including the rear sceen though...

There is a fair bit of weight in the soundproofing on the bulk head and then the soundproofing in boot and under rear seat and footwells, it chisels off easy.

I've been thinking about the aircon, but i like it!
I've been told carbon bonnets aren't ment to be any lighter than the ally ones due to the bracing it needs to be rigid. Plastic windows are a lot lighter, but expensive!

If you'd seen me in my under crackers, you wouldn't say that!
No, i dont track the car, it's a road toy really.
As it's the RA, it has manual windows, no abs, elecy windows or central locking.
