Clarkson in hot water?
Just seen on GMTV that people have complained about his prostitute comments on TG on sunday. Why can't people take it the style it was meant, a light hearted bit of fun, whats wrong with these viewers ?

Mr Jeremy C has been making a wacky comment every week for years about something that's happened in the news that week so its not like its a one off thing he's always done it, part of the show .. How can these 200 uptight idiots that have apparently complained all of a sudden get the urge to ring/email in witha a complaint. It wasn't aimed at anyone in particular certainly not truck drivers it was just a very funny comment, I thought it was anyway..

This is funny, found it on the Heral Sun in Au- readers comments. They all say keep it up Clarkson.
Dear Sir, Having been a truck driver for over twentry years I take great offence to comments made by Mr Clackson about truck drivers murdering prostitutes. It has been nearly 8 years since I last murdered a prostitute, I would hardly say it was a regular thing! Posted by: McTruckie of Melb

If these things he says wasn't provocative they wouldn't be funny, if people weren't upset by them they wouldn't be provocative, so, angry readers tells him (and us?) he's funny.
He'll go on :-)

Clearly he was making reference to Peter Sutcliffe, The Yorkshire Ripper and Steve Wright from Ipswich according to Sky News.

I'm afraid there's still momentum in the bandwagon that was ross/brand..!
I just hope the Beeb don't feel compelled to act, remember only 2 people initially complained about the 'Manuel' incident and look how that turned out..
I mean are these people stupid/super sensitive or what..? Do they really think everyone now believes truckers are prostitute murdering maniacs..
Come on, everybody knows their just innocent fat b@stard, fried bread eating, self imposed 'kings of the road', who would probably have a heart attack just thinking about a pro..!

Personally I think the Ross/Brand thing was out of order, having a laugh at the expense of an elderly chap known or not isn't funny. Clarkson was just messin about being ironic, taking the pee whilst actually giving the truckers a lot of respect, I know I'll be giving truckers more room in future(not that I dont now realy), man that's a lot of gear changing! I'm looking forward to MPH this year those guys are brilliant live, had me in stitches last year. .....people need to get a life, Clarkson and co take the **** out of themselves more than anyone, feckin superb!.

I agree Ross and Brand were out of order completely. I knew Clarkson's comments would get complaints in the current climate so I think its brave of the BBC to leave them in. Well brave if they had any idea those comments were in the programme that is.

i'm a trucker and i never laughed so much. i think people are so serious. i was looking on the freight transport association and they've wrote a letter of complaint, which is a bit funny real. i think they should have wrote a letter complimenting the show in highlighting some of the issues that truckers face on a daily basis such as gear changes and how much room is needed when you need to turn ect. i hope the beeb don't get all serious with the top gear lads.

You can fight back directly on this one. See https://www.scoobynet.com/non-scooby...er-should.html - log in to the BBC site, select the button for 'praise' and tell them what you think. Only takes a couple of minutes, and just maybe they'll get the message

The problem seems to be that people are realising that their complaint, despite their view being a tiny minority, will in all liklihood be acted upon; and this empowerment only encourages them more.

Just added my praise for such an informative, yet light hearted look at the plight of our HGV drivers..

I assume he was aiming towards the Steve Wright murders in Ipswich (I live in Ipswich) I know Clarkson was trying to be funny, in his own way, but I guess for the people who were involved/affected by what went on probably wouldn't find his comment that amusing?
Personally I couldn't give a **** what he said but just looking at in from the other side of the fence

Personally, I think that some of what old Clarky says is probably insensitive or insulting. But shock/horror humour is de-rigeur apparently.
I watch top-gear and mostly enjoy it. Apart from the ludicrous caravan and camping holiday stupidity. Where, let's face it, if they were at school they'd get 10 of the best and have to stand outside the headmaster's office all day. All they proved with that trip is that they were good at faking stuff and were clueless gibbons.
I don't find it strange or odd or irritating that a couple of hundred people complain about Jezzer's jests.

when over 3.5 million people complain then i wont mind if they take action (thats over half the viewers ), the bbc has a duty to provide entertainment and programs for the most number of folks, so 500 odd which i think the complaints are up to now, is less than half of 1% of the total viewers, think theres a way to go yet lol
