Unhappy Error Code 24 - Please help

Hi all

I've just followed the instructions on JGM website regarding checking your car for error codes.
My car is telling me No. 24 - Idle air control solenoid is knackered

I've got 2 questions really;
1. Am I ok driving home from work with it like this? Distance is only about 15 miles.
2. Where can i buy a new one from and roughly how much do they cost??

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

You can try to clean it out using carb cleaner to start with.

i had the same prob with a classic i had a few years ago.
check engine light only came on now and again.
eventually replaced it, think it was like that since before i got the car so not sure if running it like this was doing any or much damage.
had to replace the MAF sensor at the same time.
Got idle control valve from a breaker for £10-£20 inc p+p, cant remember exactly.

Not sure how much they are brand new.

The check engine light isn't coming on whilst driving. I just thought i'd check for error codes and this came up. I use it everyday for work - but obviously don't want to drive around if it's damaging anything.
I done the MAF when i bought the car in June 07.

Think i'll give the local breaker a call. Thanks for your help

Can anyone else help at all???
