Hello, couldnt find a newbie section so here i am.
Getting my 1st Impreza which is also my 1st 4WD car next couple of weeks, its a 1997 WRX Jap Import. Ive always been an old skool ford buff, have owned mk1 escorts mk2s, capris, an XR2 and my last one was a Series X MK2 Escort RS2000, have just let that go to a new home and im selling my daily run about, an S-Limited MX5.
Would i be right in saying a 97 Jap WRX has 276bhp?
Quite excited to learn how to drive fast all over again, RWD has been the way for many years, as is what the MK2 escort is famous for, kickin the **** out etc.. so going to be a whole new experience.
Looking forward to hints and tips from here!

Hello mate, welcome aboard.
I've only been a member for a few months, and lke you was a RWD only man. Never wanted a scoob - until I drove one. Nuff said.![Norty](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/norty.gif)
I guarantee you'll enjoy driving it, but be prepared for the running costs. But you aren't buying it to save money are you?
Stick around on here and you'll find like I did that there are plenty of experienced scoob owners with all the info you're ever going to need.

hey thanks
running costs, well its always the same isnt it, if you want power expect petrol. Im moving to city centre so will be cutting out 90% of my commuting now. Which will help. Ive read average mpg is sub 20 to mid 20s. I can live with that.
