Question Seriously thinking of spending some cash!!!!

OK Opinions needed.

Got a MY04 5 door WRX PPP and NEED more power.

Should I get a new turbo and get the thing re-mapped etc....

As there aren't any STi wagons of this age I always fancied making the car into an STi (or as close as!) by fitting an STi engine, box & brakes but what sort of money am I looking at. This way I could probably get considerably more power safely. Am I right?

OH decisions decisions!!!!

Dave.

bigger turbo
front mount intercooler
uprated fuel pump
full decat
then remap it
damn site cheaper than a STI engine

What about driveability with a bigger turbo. Don't want horrendous lag.

Mostly agree, but also bigger injectors.

Wouldn't bother with a FMIC, the STi topmount would be good enough and not give lag.

Speak to an expert about turbos (like Andy F). There's loads to choose from depending on what power/lag you want.

If the MY04 is anything like earlier new age cars then it will be fitted with 380cc injectors.

so they fitted smaller injectors to the newer cars than the older classics??
seems strange
are there many noticeable differences between the capabilities of 380's and 440's??

Yep - i'm guessing that 380cc will struggle to flow for 300 - anyone with the difinitive?

How much power do you want/how much are you prepared to spend. If up to 350bhp is sufficient then..

Decat/sports cat the exhaust
Get your headers ported and wrapped
VF34/35 turbo.
Uprated fuel pump.
550 injectors
Uprated turbo hose kit
STi V8 Top mounted intercooler
ECUTEK Remap by someone good

Should see 330-350bhp with similar torque and will make a very nice, quick and drivable road car. Jobs a good un!

You could do a lot worse than give David at APi a ring and ask him about the Ns04 upgrade

If that's not enough, sell the WRX and get an STi now.

Ns04

Need a five door! Otherwise I would have bought a saloon STi.

I'll look into it a bit more.

Cheers.

There was a similar thread the other week:

https://www.scoobynet.com/scoobynet-...-53-plate.html

See my comments about what I did to my old PPP wagon.
I'd also recommend beefing up the rear anti roll bar - the STi model fits after a fashion.
